The Studios at Singers Forum

Performances inThe Dorothy Jones Theater

The Dorothy Jones Theater is available for performances. The room seats a maximum of 50 audience members, and chairs can be set up in any viable configuration.There is a grand piano on the raised platform stage that cannot be removed. There is a full lighting grid, and a simple PA system with four channels.There is no follow spot. Ideal types of productions are:

  • Recitals (vocal & acoustic instruments)
  • Cabaret Shows
  • Jazz Trios
  • Staged Readings
  • One-Man Monologue Shows
  • Small Fashion Shows

Productions NOT suited for the space include:

  • Full plays
  • Electric bands
  • Orchestras
  • Dance
  • Choirs
  • Any group requiring more than five people on stage at a time

Cost

  • Monday-Friday: $325
  • Saturday or Sunday before 6pm: $325
  • Saturday or Sunday after 6pm: $375

  • Contracted rental of over 15 hours aweek may be eligible for discounts.

  • 10% discount off regular rate for Actor’s Equity Members!
  • A discounted rate is also available to students registered with Singers Forum for the concurrent semester. (No double discounts.)

The Cabaret Room

  • 15’1” X 26’4” Yamaha Baby Grand piano, 4-channel PA

The Dorothy Jones Theater

  • 17’9” X 29’4” Kawai Baby Grand piano, raised stage, 4channel PA, theatrical lighting grid, MACvenue

  • *add $20/hr for use of pre-set lights and sound in Cabaret and Theater

Prices Subject To Change

  • All rooms are newly renovated with hardwood floors, mirrors (except Cabaret and Theater), & available tape recorders/CD players.
  • All Yamaha pianos are new.
  • Adjustable benches are available.
  • A credit card is required to hold a reservation.
  • A Renter Agreement must be completed on first rental.
  • Reservations made over a week in advance are subject to a contract and a 50% non-refundable deposit.
  • Any reservation cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.
  • A full list of Rental Policies will be furnished upon first rental.
