Teaching Artist, BILL COLOMBO
How many times have you given an award-winning audition for a role you were born to play only to never get a callback, let alone book the job? You can stop counting now and read this…
Bill Colombo, with 10+ years experience in the Hollywood Casting Scene brings his “insider” observations and experience to the up-and-coming professional NY actor.
The first half of this seminar is devoted to giving you, the auditioning Actor, insights from the other side of The Audition Table…
1) Leave the “attitude” at home – OR ELSE!
2) Exactly what “They’re” looking for and how them to give it to “Them” (ie: Branding your Type, from headshot to resume to clothing to follow up…
and
3) the answer to the most important Casting Question EVER: Shake or No Shake the Casting Director’s hand?
The second half focuses on auditioning techniques and application of the insights you learned in Part One. Bring a prepared Monologue (3 minutes max), Scene (scene partner must also be registered for the seminar), and/or Song (16 bars max, to be sung acapella) for a Mock Audition. (If you don’t have anything prepared, you will be given sides to do as a cold reading).
There are no guarantees that this workshop will help you book the next job but you will have the confidence of knowing that you did nothing to F#^k it up!
Note: Please dress as if you were going to an audition for a role you are often called in for; bring a current headshot and resume, and prepared audition piece (described above)
