Each class begins with thirty minutes of vocal-building exercises. Under the brilliant eye of William Zeffiro, who’s past students have included Emmy-winner Neil Patrick Harris, Tony-winner Karen Olivo, MAC-winner Julie Reyburn and Metrostar winner Marissa Mulder – as well as over 40 previous cast members of Rent – you’ll have a blast as you strengthen and hone your instrument!
From there, you will go on to explore interpretation and performance with MAC, Nightlife and Bistro Award winner Karen Oberlin. Hailed as having “musical intelligence” and “interpretive insight” by the New York Times and having been called “thrilling” by Rex Reed, Oberlin will nurture your every performing need – everything from lyric interpretation, phrasing, dynamics, proper mic technique, to calming your pre-show jitters – it’s a vocal technique class and an acting class rolled into one! Whether you’re preparing a cabaret performance, working on (or looking for) new material, working on a specific performance skill, or doing “homework” for a musical you’re currently in, Karen and Bill will tailor your time with them to meet your individual needs.
