Teaching Artist, TERI RALSTON
Accompanist, DAN FURMAN
Cabaret is one of the few places in the performance world where we can take charge and have an outlet for that great joy of singing.
With opportunities at open mics all around town, whether you want to do this professionally or for the pure fun of it, Broadway and Cabaret veteran Teri Ralston can help guide you down the right path.
Topics will include choosing material, making interesting and original choices, connecting personally and honestly with the song, the best means to communicate it, mic technique and how best to physically communicate the song. Together with accompanist Dan Furman, they will help you find the best keys for your voice, and work out arrangements. If your goal is to put together a show, they will help you find the through-line and the songs that are best for you and what you’re wanting to say. Come on and let’s have some fun.
NOTE: There is a showcase in our final class of the session, and you will receive a video of the performance.
