Singers Forum is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development and appreciation of the vocal arts for individuals of any age or level of experience and from all walks of life. Founded in 1978 by Andy Anselmo and John Albert Harris, Singers Forum is built on the philosophy of personal achievement and artistic development through vocal training, performance and community service. It is unique among in the city because it offers year-round classes for the professional artist, emerging artist and the recreational singer in all styles of vocal performance including, but not limited to, opera, musical theatre, jazz, pop and cabaret.
Since 1978, Singers Forum has been a non-profit musical oasis committed to providing the highest quality vocal training for New York City residents. Our continuing mission is to engage a diverse student body of singers in an setting dedicated to the development and appreciation of the vocal arts. With a strong emphasis on vocal technique, combined with numerous performance opportunities in a safe and supportive environment, Singers Forum strives to offer each artist a full curriculum of private instruction and group classes for both professional and personal growth. Utilizing a roster of dynamic and successful teaching artists who each have their own professional singing and musical backgrounds and successful careers in the arts, we have developed our students’ performance skills in a wide variety of vocal styles and genres that range from opera to cabaret, musical theatre to jazz, folk to pop and all genres in between!
Singers Forum is the only non-university setting in the entire City of New York that unites premier, credentialed teaching artists in a studio setting to meet the specific goals of students across the musical spectrum. Our artistic director, Don Rebic, is an accomplished composer, arranger, pianist and conductor and has recruited teachers with active, successful careers in musical theatre, cabaret and opera, currently including appearances on Broadway, major cabaret venues and opera companies. The combination of a skilled teachers, versed in contemporary trends in all forms of singing, as well as the history and experience of Singers Forum makes the school ideally positioned to provide training for singers at all stages of development.
