Bill Zeffiro wrote book, music, and lyrics for The Road To Ruin (NYMF 2008), currently slated for a 2011 production to be directed by Broadway legend Pat Birch. R2R was named one of the Top 10 Show Albums of 2005 on talkinbroadway.com and his just released CD on Original Cast Records ‘Forgotten Broadway and More’, includes never before recorded songs by the Gershwins, Arlen, Kern, and Coward.
He is considered an expert on the music of Kay Swift and produced the legendary 1986 Merkin Hall concert. Recently work includes on a soon to be released recording of Ms. Swift’s music with Steve Ross and K.T. Sullivan. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory he has been a New York based vocal teacher since 1981. Clients past and present include Karen Olivo, Neil Patrick Harris, Sebastian Arcelus, Julie Reyburn and many other Broadway singers (Billy Elliot, Wicked, Rent, Avenue Q etc.)
In 2007 City Lights Youth Theater honored him at Tavern On the Green for his work as a teaching artist on the same program as Kitty Carlisle Hart. He has been playing and singing around town since the Reagan Years entertaining and or accompanying Nell Carter, Red Buttons, Joe Williams, John Gotti and Frank Sinatra among many others.
