The Singers Forum is alive and, thanks to the EMGCollective, will continue to offer group classes, vocal instruction, and open mic nights in their current space.  Singers Forum, located at 49 W. 24th Street, 4th Floor, New York City, 10010 is undergoing restructuring, effective 8/30/2013.  In the interim, a number of Singers Forum instructors and associates will remain actively teaching in the space and certain Singers Forum events and classes will continue to be offered.  For updated information on Singers Forum Open Mics, classes and teachers operating in this space, please visit our website at  Updated schedules will be posted regularly.  

We are pleased to announce that the Singers Forum/Actors Equity Association Scholarship Fund will remain active during this interim period and will continue to be supervised by SF teaching associate, Eric Michael Gillett.  Auditions for our fall admissions will be held in October and precise dates and times will be announced both here and on the AEA website shortly.  In addition, a limited number of voice scholarships are available to qualified non-AEA members through a separate program.  Information on application and audition deadlines will be posted on September 15, 2013.

Although the Singers Forum is not currently accepting rental clients, private voice lessons and group classes continue to be offered and both John Koprowski’s and Jeff Cubeta’s popular Open Mic nights will be operating in our cabaret and Dorothy Jones Theater spaces.

The Singers Forum Friday night Open Mic’s will return on Friday, September 4 and Friday, September 18.  More information on start time and solo prep times with Dan Furman will be posted after Labor Day.  

Eric Michael Gillett’s AVP (Audition and Vocal Performance Class) will return on Wednesday, September 4th.  The upcoming session will consist of six classes (Sept. 4, 11, 18 and October 2, 16, and 23) from 6:30 PM-9:30 PM.  For enrollment information, please contact Lynn Kearney at or contact Mr. Gillett directly at  The class series is $325.  Single classes are permitted on a space available basis at $55 per class.  AEA members receive a $5 per class discount.

Upcoming classes scheduled to be announced in September include Discovering Monologues, Cabaret Essentials, and Take the Plunge.  The EMGCollective, a studio for Voice/Acting/Speech will be operating out of the space at 49 W. 24th Street and will include new programs directed at corporate speaking and executive speech training.
